Council saves money on tax bills
Tandridge Dictrict Council gets online rates system to help save money
Tandridge District Council has installed a system to provide citizens with access to council tax and business rates information online.
Using the system, citizens in the Surrey district will be able to access an e-statement that gives them information on their account balance, as well as payment records and checking payments have been received.
Stuart Mitchenall, Tandridge's head of IT, says the e-statement system will help in ensuring the council reaches its Gershon efficiency targets by saving it money on the 33,000 bills it sends out each year.
'Maintenance and support of the implementation as well as the authentication of all users is managed by Gandlake resulting in minimal impact on our IT infrastructure,' he said.
The council estimates that 15 per cent of citizens will take-up the service, meaning it will get a return on its investment within about five years.
