Talk Talk to cut broadband cost

Carphone Warehouse's fixed-line firm promises broadband for five pounds a month

Talk Talk is planning to change the broadband landscape with an ultra-low-cost service, according to reports.

The Carphone Warehouse landline unit is poised to offer a service that is free for three months and then will be charged for at just £4.99 per month, according to the Sunday Times.

Carphone’s press office described the reports as “speculation”. However, the company is due to report financials tomorrow and the Talk Talk web site is due to be revamped at the same time.
