MoD to upgrade asset management

New system will include ground-based Royal Navy and Royal Air Force equipment

The management of army assets will be improved

The Ministry of Defence is upgrading its asset management system to improve the mobility of its equipment.

The Joint Asset Management Engineering Solution (JAMES Land) system will also be extended to included ground-based Royal Navy and Royal Air Force equipment.

The project follows on from the previously implemented JAMES 1 solution which is currently operated by 9,000 users in the regular UK army.

The project is being managed by Lockheed Martin, which has signed a £13.9m contract with IFS Applications to provide the core software for the new system.
