But UK consultancy sales drop 6.5 per cent

Atos says full year predictions remain on track

Technology services giant Atos Origin met analyst expectations with a seven per cent revenue increase in the first half of the year.

Sales represent six per cent of overall revenues of E3bn (£2bn). The company's operating income was E108m (£73m).

The UK consulting arm saw a sales drop of 6.5 per cent. But the firm says it signed deals worth nearly £290m in the same period, including Intercontinental, Premier Inn and NHS Connecting for Health.

'The UK business has grown steadily over the first six months of the year and with a strong pipeline in place we are well positioned to continue this growth across our key market sectors – public sector, transport, health and enterprise including telecom, utilities, manufacturing and retail,' said Atos Origin UK chief executive Keith Wilman.

The company confirmed that financial expectations for the full year remain unchanged despite the announcement last week that the firm's diagnostics services contract with the UK government has been terminated.
