A study released last week has found that UK e-businesses could be losing as much as half their local business by opting for a dot.com web address. The study, by Usability by Design,found that 72 per cent of respondents assumed a dot.com address meant the site was based in the US. But 97 per cent of respondents understood that a .co.uk address meant the site was based in the UK. Respondents said company location would affect their purchasing decisions.
