Business Objects hopes to make it easier for firms to data mine thier existing BI systems

Business Objects has announced details of its Predictive Workbench, a solution that it said would give firms added data mining and analytics tools, and a competitive business advantage.

Predictive Workbench integrates with Business Object's business intelligence platform, XI 3.0, and can help workers identify trends and patterns in new and historical data, the firm said.

Integrating the two will let firms capitalise on their current customer base, as well as helping them to imagine and plan for future trends in sales and scenarios – key capabilities in a depressed economic time, Business Objects explained.

The system uses visual workflow interfaces and requires no immediate, time consuming coding. Instead point and click visualisations and reporting tools come as standard.
