Training firm improves performance with analytics software

Courses for the unemployed monitored using statistical software tool

Working Links, a training organisation for the unemployed, has taken on an analytics system to help monitor the performance of its training programmes.

The government-funded training body helps the long-term unemployed to learn new skills to help them rejoin the workforce, and wants to use the system to allocate money to different programmes.

Information provided by the system will also allow Working Links to compete against other commercial training organisations for future government training contracts.

Working Links' financial controller Paula Miller says the needs of the organisation are very complex, with growing numbers of programmes tailored to local employment situations.

'Working Links is partly-owned by central government, meaning that our standards of accountability and reporting are very high,' she said.

'The Applix TM1 software enables us to report quickly and accurately while building realistic forecasting models.'
