Woolworths to introduce e-kiosks

Interactive kiosks will be installed in shops in time for Christmas

High street retailer Woolworths has signed a contract to install interactive kiosks in its shops as part of its multi-channel push to enable customers to buy items on their own.

The bespoke transactional kiosk, which will build on Woolworths’ in-store ordering system and link to point-of-sale systems, will be installed in time for Christmas.

The kiosks allow customers to purchase products in-store and have it delivered to the door, which Woolworths hopes will improve customer experience and revenues.

It could also enable the retailer to be more efficient as customers can make their purchase without the assistance of staff.

In-store digital marketing company Retec Interface will design and build the kiosks, in conjunction with IBM UK, after a successful trial earlier this year.
