Staffordshire outsources finance system
County council farms out running of money management software to free up staff
Staffordshire County Council is outsourcing the management of its finance control system to cut costs and free-up staff.
The council has been using an SAP-supplied system since mid-2004 and now wants to concentrate its IT efforts on extending the system to other areas, while saving money on its current operation.
Outsourcing the running of the finance system to Fujitsu Services means Staffordshire can concentrate on services for its citizens, says Arm Thandi, the county council's head of strategy.
'With this in mind, we selected a partner that can not only meet our initial requirements but also fulfil future project needs,' he said.
As well as serving the council, the financial system also manages the county's fire and police services, turning over £780m per annum for 70,000 staff.
