Frozen food firm uses ERP to boost profits
KK Fine Foods reduces waste and grows profits by 54 per cent
Frozen foods manufacturer KK Fine Foods has enjoyed a 54 per cent rise in profit and 15 per cent drop in wastage through its enterprise resource planning (ERP) software.
It produces over 250 different frozen meal recipes and 193 live recipes each month for customers such as TGI Friday, Pizza Hut, Iceland, Marriott and Whitbread.
It implemented a fully integrated, real-time information tool that allows it to optimise throughput, streamline business and monitor product profitability.
The system also generates management level view of the business and manufacturing processes to enable more accurate decision making.
‘The ERP software underpins our entire organisation from finance and sales order processing to production and distribution,’ said chairman Graham Jackson.
‘We have been able to minimise errors in production and streamline production planning as well as achieve more effective management of our cold storage facility.’
As well as live management reports, the Ross Systemssoftware also provides real-time stock status reports, supplying information by product, customer, ingredient, location and history, to give end-to-end online visibility of its products.
KK Fine Foods can now identify the availability of raw materials, monitor stock shelf life and react to any sudden change in customer demand dynamically.
‘KK Fine Foods now has a completely accurate demand-forecasting system in place and we have total control and visibility of all materials and products throughout the manufacturing process,’ Jackson added.
‘We have achieved a 54 per cent increase in profitability over the past three years and are continuing to experience growth on a massive scale. We have plans to increase our revenue by 200 per cent over the next five years.’
