Compuware to acquire Gomez for $295m
Combined firm to offer end-to-end application performance management
Deal will offer end-to-end management of web applications
IT service management firm Compuware is to buy web performance specialist Gomez for $295m (£186m).
Compuware president and chief operating officer Bob Paul said acquisition would benefit firms moving more business-critical applications onto the internet. The combined firm would be able to offer "unified visibility, isolation and resolution of application performance problems from the datacentre to the customer, rather than the isolated portions covered by our competitors," he said.
Gomez' software-as-a-service system combines load testing and performance management for web applications, as well as cross-browser testing, and web performance business analysis. Compuware's products span IT portfolio and service management, and the firm also has mainframe solutions to manage legacy IT systems.
The transaction is expected to close in November, subject to the usual regulatory conditions.
