The software giant announced solid fourth-quarter and full-year results for the year to 31 March

Swainson: CA has made a good start to 2009

CA has unveiled an eight per cent increase in fourth-quarter revenue to $1.085bn (£500m), compared with the same period last year, while full-year revenue hit $4.277bn compared with 2007.

Fourth-quarter income from continuing operations hit $71m (£36m), compared with a loss of $20m for the same period last year. And full-year income from continuing operations was $500m, compared with $121m for the previous financial year.

Chief executive John Swainson said it had been a good year for the company and further success was expected.

“CA has reported another solid quarter, capping a fiscal year that saw the company make significant progress," he said.

“We entered fiscal year 2009 with good momentum and we are issuing an annual outlook that reflects our operational momentum and our confidence in our ability to execute.”
