IPass clients roam Thames

iPass selected as roaming partner for river Thames Wi-Fi mesh network

Network access aggregator iPass has been selected as a roaming partner by Thames Online, a service provider operating a Wi-Fi mesh network along a 10-mile stretch of the river Thames. The move means that iPass, which gives mobile staff the ability to connect to networks worldwide through a universal client, can offer its subscribers access to the network from the end of this month.

The network has dozens of access points at locations including the Oxo Tower, Tower Bridge and Canary Wharf, all of which function as one continuous hotspot along the river.

The Thames Online service supports laptops and other devices using 802.11b/g Wi-Fi and is priced from £2.95 per hour to £9.95 per month.
