Proactis acquisition bolsters public sector presence

Proactis has bought supplier and contract management software vendor Alito

Spend control management and e-procurement software specialist Proactis has today extended its portfolio and bolstered its presence in the public sector market with the acquisition of supplier and contract management software vendor Alito.

The company said the deal would add 50 public sector clients to its customer base, and plans to integrate the acquired product-set to provide an end-to-end procurement solution.

Rod Jones, chief executive of Proactis, said in a statement that the two vendors’ portfolios were largely complementary. "Alito’s strategic sourcing and contract management products will add both depth and specialisation to our e-sourcing, e-commerce and supplier relationship management applications," he explained. " The deal will allow customers to benefit from an extended offering, including OJEU [Official Journal of the EU] framework support and Proactis’ flagship purchase to pay product."

Proactis added that an integrated product roadmap was already being developed and would be published "in due course". It insisted that all existing Alito employees and management would be retained along with the company's South Wales based office.

Proactis has paid £1.5m in cash for Alito with an additional consideration of £1.75m in cash and shares to be paid over the next two years based on the company’s performance.
