Blurred vision

22 Jun 2011

Technology you didn’t know you needed: a boon for all amateur photographers who don’t want to improve this week, as the Computer Graphics Group at MIT’s Artificial Intelligence Lab has demonstrated more effective ways to make pictures blurry!

This exciting breakthrough rests on the idea that making blurry things sharper is relatively easy, but simulating motion blur, like pretending that you’re an idiot so your boss won’t give you hard jobs to do, is surprisingly difficult.

The results of this work will initially be used to make computer games and special effects better, but there’s no reason why the rest of us can’t use it in the future to make our Facebook pages even more irritating than they already are.
