A poll of over 2,800 IT professionals conducted by research firm Quocirca identified loss, damage or unauthorised use of mobile devices as the biggest security concerns. Quocirca recommended mobile middleware to aid management.
Analyst Rob Bamforth said many IT managers focus too much on antivirus and encryption tools, and not enough on controlled deployments, asset tracking and user education.
“It is not just the phones [users could lose], it is access into the company’s IT infrastructure,” he added.
