Hillingdon Borough Council is to outsource its major financial IT systems to reduce back-office administration.
The deal with Northgate Information Solutions is worth £4m over five years and will see the vendor taking ownership of the finance system and upgrading and maintaining it in a secure data centre environment.
Change management and flexible access for Hillingdon are also included, as well as maintenance of secure communication links to and from the data centre.
The council wants to be able to concentrate on service delivery, says Hillingdon's cabinet member for finance & business services, councillor Jonathan Bianco.
'We needed a successful supplier that would understand our priorities and share our goals,' he said.
'Northgate demonstrated an understanding of the council’s vision and their depth of technology expertise.'
