The Women in Tech Festival, an event from Computing and its sister title CRN, was a huge success recently, with over 600 delegates enjoying a wide variety of fun activities, networking, mentoring and more.
With a host of fantastic people presenting, leading sessions and taking questions at this multi-stream event which took over the entirety of London's 'The Brewery' venue, there was truly something for everyone, at every stage of their career in IT.

First up we have Anne-Marie Imafidon, co-founder of Stemettes. She presented the morning keynote describing her own career path, giving advice on how others can give themselves the best opportunity for success.

Chairing the day was Viv Groskop, comedian and author of 'How to Own the Room'.
Groskop also gave a talk entitled 'Women and the art of brilliant speaking'.

But being a festival, the day wasn't just about on-stage presentations, there were many fringe activities for delegates to get involved in.
One of the lighter-hearted of these was a table of lego bricks. Who doesn't enjoy making a small truck whilst networking?

There was also yoga available throughout the day in one of the fringe areas, and it proved popular with delegates. Yoga has been proven to relieve stress, as well as build core strength.

There were several panels in both plenary and streamed sessions. And of course men were present at the event, and occasionally on stage. Diversity is very much an issue for everyone.

There were well over 500 delegates present on the day, with almost all staying for the entire day. The main room at The Brewery was packed, with many standing at the back for the keynote sessions.

Fiona Macaulay, head of global delivery at Mars, took part in a plenary 'Ask me Anything' session, in which delegates took advantage of the opportunity to ask tricky career-focused questions of the experts on stage.
