Renault in £411m outsourcing deal
Car manufacturer selects Atos, CSC and HP to drive through cost savings
Renault has outsourced €590m (£411m) worth of IT services to Atos Origin, CSC and HP as part of a move to rationalise technology systems around the world.
Atos Origin has won a five-year €300m (£209m) contract to develop and maintain the car manufacturer's 2,000 business applications used in its' design, manufacturing, sales and marketing departments.
It will also upgrade legacy systems and build new automotive design and aftersales applications.
Systems integrator CSC will manage Renault's network infrastructure, including monitoring, management and maintenance of all its technical platforms and hardware maintenance contracts, as part of a €175m deal.
HP will also manage and support desktops for all of Renault's 87,000 users in 26 countries, as part of a €112m agreement.
It will also provide and maintain PC peripherals, faxes, photocopiers, computer aided design and mobility services as part of the five-year contract.
Renault says it will be able to make greater cost savings by consolidating its technology supplier base.
The car manufacturer has also established five technological partnerships with Cisco, Dassault, IBM, Microsoft and SAP as part of the IT shake-up.
