Alongside its customers, Illumio is shortlisted for no less than five awards including Network Security and Enterprise Security Solution and Security Project of the Year categories.

Raghu Nandakumara, Head of Industry Solutions at Illumio caught up with Computing in advance of the Security Excellence Awards to share some thoughts.

A veteran of network security in the financial sector, Raghu helps companies within highly regulated industries achieve cyber and operational resilience with the Illumio zero-trust segmentation platform.

"Security excellence is embedded in our culture here at Illumio," Raghu says.

"We strive to achieve our mission of enabling every organisation to realise a future without high profile breaches. We do that by stopping breaches and ransomware from spreading across IT infrastructure regardless of complexity and scale."

What makes Illumio unique?

"First, Illumio is the leading zero-trust segmentation platform and the first for comprehensive breach containment," says Raghu.

"Secondly, unlike most security solutions, Illumio's focus is on achieving true cyber and operational resilience. Essentially, we stop breaches turning into cyber disasters. Finally, the Illumio platform was purpose built from the ground up for hybrid modern enterprise IT architectures. Micro segmentation is in Illumio's DNA."

"We're excited about the awards and joining other industry leaders to showcase best-in-class security," he continues. "For us, the awards are not just a chance to showcase the great work we're doing at Illumio but also the amazing work that our customers are doing to strengthen cyber resilience and drive meaningful change in their business and the industry."
