Information technology has become a vital part of businesses today. It aids all corporate sectors in automating their systems and processes to achieve goals, generate revenue, and lessen the inefficiencies of their work.

The UK IT Industry Awards are the largest and most well-known event in the technology industry calendar. Owned and operated by BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT and Computing, the awards enjoy a level of professionalism and industry knowledge not seen at other shows.

This year's winners will be announced at a live awards ceremony on Wednesday 8th November in London.

One of the finalists is esynergy, who is in the running for the Inspirational Individual of the Year and Best Place to Work.

We caught up with Patrick Crompton, CEO at esynergy, to ask him more about the company's priorities for the next 12 months.

esynergy is a technology consultancy dedicated to driving value and measurable impact across financial services, public sector and scale ups. Utmost transparency, metric-driven, and executed by the best in the market. esynergy is trusted by HMRC, HMPO, DEFRA, NatWest, Elavon, Northern Trust and many others.

Patrick loves spending time with his friends and family, and is an adventure seeker so if he's not in a boardroom you will find him wakeboarding on the Thames or snowboarding down a mountain!

Computing: What makes you different from other companies?

Patrick Crompton: esynergy prides itself on our customer-focused, value-driven, and results-oriented approach. We are dedicated to our clients, ensuring they feel special by getting the basics right. As a consultancy, our mission is to continuously pursue better; we strive to support clients in achieving outcomes that allow them to succeed and excel. Our operations are underpinned by a strong commitment to our core values of honesty, collaboration and growth, which guide our decision-making and actions.

esynergy fosters a culture of continuous learning, encouraging people to embrace a "fail fast" mindset, promoting innovation and growth. We pride ourselves on small teams of exceptional experts who are highly focused on creating business value and share our same core values. Clients find it easy to engage with us, and they can trust in the consistency of our expertise.

What one company achievement in the last 12 months are you most proud of?

esynergy is on an exciting journey and over the last year I have personally loved hearing how our teams are getting value from our new benefits such as our unlimited holiday policy roll out. For anyone who knows me personally, I love sharing adventures and experiences. In June we shook the London dust from our heels and jetted off to Crete for a company holiday. We made some incredible memories.

From a business perspective, I have been excited to watch the teams go above and beyond for our clients. Offering value outside of projects such as creating bespoke show and tells, workshops, and even award nominations! Celebrating with our client as they raised their trophy for a leading IT award was certainly a highlight!

What are you working on this year?

This year we are continuing to build our work on business value creation and are currently reshaping our consulting practice and hiring SME leads across our core service areas and industries. This will allow us to focus on patterns and accelerators, with the ambition of ensuring the majority of our work can directly link back to the creation of business value to our clients.

Why are events like the UK IT Awards important to the IT industry?

The UK IT Awards provide a beautiful platform for the industry to share their successes and achievements. These events offer an opportunity to showcase innovative projects and solutions, which can inspire others and help the industry understand the art of the possible.

The awards allow us to reflect on the industry's progress and the remarkable pace of innovation. It's a chance to take stock of the positive developments and changes that have occurred over the past year. In an industry where change is constant and often accompanied by uncertainty, these events allow us to reflect on our collective journey and celebrate the strides made. Not existing two years ago, Gen AI shows how quickly the industry evolves. It emphasises the importance of recognising and celebrating such rapid advancements. Together we can harness the power of technology and make a positive difference in the world.
