‘2025 has been a testing year, marked by a full transformation agenda, a new operating model, fresh executive leadership, and a challenging market’

Why do you think awards like the Women in Tech Excellence Awards matter? What would winning mean to you and your company?
Awards like the Women in Tech Excellence Awards are vital because they spotlight the talent, leadership, and innovation women bring to the tech industry. They challenge outdated perceptions and inspire future generations to pursue careers in technology.
For Intact Insurance, winning this award would be a proud moment, a reflection of our commitment to our values of Generosity, Respect, and Excellence, and the collective efforts of our Women in Tech group. It would reinforce our belief that diverse, inclusive teams are essential to delivering meaningful change and customer-driven innovation, as well as retaining and attracting more diverse talents.
What would you say is your company's proudest achievement over the past year?
Our proudest achievement has been the successful rebrand from RSA to Intact Insurance. RSA has been a household name in the UK for over 300 years, and while Intact is a global leader in commercial and specialty lines, it was less known in the UK market. This rebrand was more than a visual change, it was a cultural and strategic transformation that reinvigorated our mindset, behaviours, and ambition.
It boosted our confidence in the market and created new opportunities for our people to grow, lead, and innovate, reflecting our values and purpose: helping people, businesses, and society prosper in good times and be resilient in bad.
This transformation has delivered tangible results:
- A 5-star broker experience rating for our eTrade platform, with Intact Online ranked among the top platforms in the Insurance Times Broker Survey.
- Finalist recognition in multiple industry awards, including Gender Inclusion Network of the Year and Contribution to Inclusion at the Women in Insurance Awards.
- A significant uplift in employee engagement, with strong scores in motivation, advocacy, and pride.
- Strengthened diversity and inclusion, including a six-fold increase in female representation in our CIO function in India, and refined recruitment processes to attract more female candidates.
What have been the biggest challenges of 2025 so far and how have you overcome them?
2025 has been a testing year, marked by a full transformation agenda, a new operating model, fresh executive leadership, and a challenging market. We ' ve faced pressure from all angles, requiring agility and resilience.
We ' ve overcome these challenges by staying true to our leadership success factors, particularly Taking Accountability, Being Open & Honest, and Driving Change. Collaboration across our CIO teams and business functions has been stronger than ever. With clarity in our ambition and outcomes, our teams have come together to solve problems creatively and effectively.
We ' ve built a strong community rooted in trust and psychological safety, where people feel empowered to challenge the status quo, support one another, and bring fresh ideas to the table. This has created new opportunities for career development and leadership growth.2
How do you think the industry has changed over the past year and what changes do you think it still needs to make?
The industry has made progress in recognising the value of diversity and inclusion, with more organisations investing in talent development and inclusive leadership. However, efforts must be sustained and embedded, not just celebrated once a year.
Inclusion should be a continuous journey. Celebrating progress through workshops, storytelling events, and forums that highlight everyday wins, like inclusive hiring, allyship, and leadership accountability can build momentum. Inclusion must be woven into transformation programmes, product design, and customer experience, not just HR initiatives.
