Sarah Beavon

Part of the IT Leaders 100 - a list of the most influential IT leaders in the UK in 2025.

Sarah has worked in the higher education sector for more than 20 years at various institutions, implementing new IT systems in a sector that traditionally moves slowly – although, she notes, “The system is only part of the story... You have to make sure the people, processes and culture are in place in order to achieve true digital transformation.”

Sarah specialises in operational delivery and has led global teams to deliver impactful, large-scale transformation programmes. She focuses on end-to-end transformation across people, process, policy, systems and data to drive meaningful, sustainable change.

She has wide experience running and leading IT departments and has a holistic understanding of the higher education sector.

Sarah is also an advocate of women in IT and increasing awareness of, and access to, technology-based career paths for women.
