Jenny Rae

Part of the IT Leaders 100 - a list of the most influential IT leaders in the UK in 2025.

Jenny Rae is CIO at Imperial College London, where she leads the IT division and is responsible for delivering the College’s Digital Plan - an ambitious strategy to support cutting-edge research, education and operational excellence through technology.

Since stepping into the CIO role in October 2023, Jenny has played a pivotal role in aligning IT with institutional priorities, driving a customer-focused, product-led approach to digital delivery.

Jenny joined Imperial in 2022 as Director of Digital Products, where she successfully embedded product management within the IT function - transforming how technology supports academic and administrative outcomes. Her achievements include redefining the IT operating model to be more agile and outcome-driven, and delivering key digital initiatives that enhanced user experience and efficiency across the College.

Jenny brings over 15 years of experience in digital transformation, product leadership, and technology strategy. Before joining Imperial, she served as Chief Operating Officer at insurtech startup Found Tech, where she built the product and technology function from the ground up. She has also led major digital programmes at Vodafone and BT, including cloud adoption, cross-country integration following M&A activity, and global HR transformation initiatives.

Jenny combines commercial acumen with a passion for people, process, and purposeful change.
