Claire O'Connell

Claire O'Connell is CIO at Medivet, leading the company's IT and digital strategy and focusing on delivering technology solutions that support operations and growth. She is responsible for overseeing the IT infrastructure, ensuring it is robust, scalable and aligned with the company's goals. She leads a team of IT professionals and manages the implementation of key digital initiatives.

Claire has recently spoken openly and candidly about her diagnosis with multiple sclerosis, an event that made her fear not only for her career, but her future. After trying to hide the condition for two decades, she said, "I realised that by not talking about this I am part of the problem... Diversity and inclusion has many faces and you don't hear enough about disabilities. Being diagnosed with a long term condition has changed me for the better – it's given me perspective, empathy and resourcefulness. As a leader, I believe, you need to keep an open mind about what people can do and support them no matter what their personal challenges may be."

Claire is a proponent for diversity and inclusion of all types.

Before joining Medivet, Claire was the director of IT and digital at Well Pharmacy, and prior to that led IT at Boots Opticians.
