Dr Roxane Heaton is the CIO at Macmillan Cancer Support, where she leads the Technology directorate. Her team is dedicated to driving digital transformation to enhance the support for people living with cancer. This transformation integrates Macmillan's online and offline services, improving user experiences through innovative technology solutions.

Roxane joined Macmillan in 2021, bringing extensive experience from both the public and private sectors. Her career includes a variety of diverse roles, including a stint as an officer in the Royal Navy, a director in the Civil Service and digital & innovation director at Morrisons.

She is a passionate STEM ambassador, advocating for inclusion, equity and opportunities in technology.

Roxane holds three Master's degrees, including one in Engineering, an MBA and a Doctorate in Business Administration focusing on digital inclusion. She was awarded a British Empire Medal in 2022 for her contributions to digital technology during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Outside of work, Roxane lives on the South Coast with her husband Sean, a Royal Navy officer, and their rescue whippet, Flash. She enjoys outdoor activities, exploring new places, and is a GB Age Group Duathlete, competing at the World Championship level. She also serves as a National Board Trustee for Citizens Advice and a Board Member for Digital Leaders.
