John Seabourn

Part of the IT Leaders 100 - a list of the most influential IT leaders in the UK in 2024.

John Seabourn is the Chief Digital & Information Officer (CDIO) at the North Sea Transition Authority (NSTA), where he leads its digital transformation. He has been integral to developing NSTA's Digital Energy Platform, providing data services across industry, government, academia and the public. Seabourn joined NSTA's predecessor, the Department of Energy and Climate Change, in 2014.

Prior to oil and gas, John worked at the Ministry of Defence specialising in spatial data systems after studying Geography/Geology. A Chartered Geographer and member of the Government's Science and Engineering profession, he has progressed through increasingly senior digital roles. Under his leadership, NSTA has been nominated for Civil Service Awards for its Digital Energy Platform.
