One of the Tech Women Celebration 50 - women changing the ratio of the tech workforce

Toni-Ann Grant creates, owns, drives and supports security architectural decisions for BT Group.

A career of almost 20 years at BT has covered most industry sectors, including Finance, Health, Military and Central Government. Toni-Ann has also headed the Cyber Assessment Labs for several years and is "Voice of the Future" for BT Global Security Portfolio. Technology was a draw from very early on.

"There's always something to learn and get excited about. I have always had a passion for future tech (borne from too much sci-fi probably!) It's that feeling of seeing something amazing, that was once a wild idea, actually made real, that genuinely fascinates me."

Toni-Ann is also an active member of the cybersecurity community, volunteering and networking with other women working in the field.

"I contribute to the wider cyber community, attending women in cyber events as a keynote speaker; supporting events for work experience, Cyber first, graduates, ex-services & career gap groups. I also volunteer every week at local primary schools to promote cyber awareness and digital citizenship."

What would people who don't know Toni-Ann find most surprising about her?

"I have been in a cage with a live adult cheetah," she says. "And I have nine brothers and sisters. It's a pretty close call as to which I would choose to be stuck in a cage with for any length of time!"
