Samantha Willington

Part of the Rising Stars 30 — a list of the UK's most talented young tech professionals in 2023

Samantha won the Computing Rising Tech Star of the Year at last year's Women in Tech Excellence Awards.

She arrived at IBM during a placement year, in which she wanted to investigate the possibility of using tech for good causes.

Her technical appetite grew and, having graduated with a degree in Business Administration, she joined IBM full time in 2021.

Samantha is keen to disrupt the myth that the tech industry is not for women, and that you have to have a computer science background to succeed.
