A qualified information security professional with experience in architecting and implementing network and information security solutions. Charl is group CISO for Laing O'Rourke, where he was previously head of IT network and security.

Charl has held security roles at multiple notable companies, including DS Smith, Royal Mail, Tesco, Deloitte and BP. Over the course of his career he has combined solid technical expertise with a grasp of business and pragmatic realities to lead security and drive forward the information security strategy at all levels.
