Tell us about the nominee's biggest achievement to date
Amrita's most significant achievement has been transforming Quality Engineering across large-scale digital platforms supporting critical customer and operational journeys. She led the shift from traditional testing to an embedded, engineering-led quality model by introducing scalable automation and shift-left practices. This strengthened release confidence and enabled faster, more predictable delivery across complex, multi-region environments.
A defining element was the practical use of AI in Quality Engineering to enhance test design, improve coverage insights and inform decisions across test planning and execution. This increased efficiency and engineering productivity. Amrita also built and mentored high-performing teams, helping more than 20 engineers develop as QE practitioners and future leaders. Wider automation adoption enabled faster feedback and greater delivery independence.
Amrita also helped move teams from reactive quality assurance to proactive quality ownership, embedding a quality-first mindset across engineering and product. Her impact was recognised when she was shortlisted for the European Software Testing Awards 2023.
What is the most significant challenge the nominee has overcome?
One of the most significant challenges Amrita overcame was transforming Quality Engineering across complex, large-scale SaaS platforms in distributed, multi-region environments. These platforms supported critical customer and operational journeys, where delivery speed often competed with quality and teams relied on siloed, traditional testing models.
She needed to shift entrenched mindsets from reactive testing to a proactive, engineering-led quality culture while meeting demanding business priorities. Aligning engineering, product and third-party suppliers added further complexity, particularly when maintaining consistent practices at scale.
Amrita addressed this by embedding quality within engineering and promoting automation, shift-left practices and modern quality engineering principles. She also championed AI to support better decisions and more efficient testing. By mentoring engineers, building capability and fostering ownership, she established a scalable, collaborative model that improved engineering confidence and delivery predictability.
Tell us something about the nominee people would find surprising
What often surprises people about Amrita is that, despite leading large-scale transformation in complex, fast-paced environments, her greatest strength is her people-first, collaborative leadership style. She is often described as the "go-to" person across teams, not only for her technical expertise but also for creating trust, clarity and alignment in difficult situations.
Amrita brings together diverse teams, including third-party partners, and builds a shared sense of ownership. Rather than relying on silos or hierarchy, she develops relationships and ensures every voice is heard, helping teams solve challenges collectively.
She balances high standards with empathy by celebrating team achievements, mentoring individuals and helping engineers become confident practitioners and future leaders. Under pressure, she remains calm, solutions-focused and committed to doing the right thing for the business and her teams.
Perhaps most surprising is how she combines strategic leadership with hands-on involvement, staying close to delivery while promoting quality, accountability and continuous improvement.
