Parul Kshetrapal
'Combining technical rigour with strong people leadership’
Part of the Tech Women Celebration 50 – a curated list of some of the most inspirational women working at all levels of tech
Parul Kshetrapal is a visionary technology leader with over two decades of experience in data, AI, and digital transformation. As Vice President at Genpact, she leads strategic initiatives in advanced analytics, enterprise data architecture, governance, and AI-powered solutions for global Fortune 100 clients, particularly in banking, insurance, and financial services.
Parul is not just executing, but is shaping the future of data-driven decision-making. She is known for bridging the gap between complex data ecosystems and real-world business impact - architecting enterprise-grade solutions using cutting-edge technologies like generative AI, cloud-native platforms, and intelligent data governance frameworks. Her leadership combines deep technical acumen with a strong focus on ethical AI, women in tech advocacy, and future-readiness.
Parul is also a proud graduate of Genpact's Women's Leadership Program (run with Harvard Business Publishing), and actively contributes to the company's AI upskilling initiatives, including the Genome program where she recently completed intermediate GenAI certifications.
Parul's influence is widely respected, not only for her contributions to building scalable data capabilities but for mentoring upcoming talent and fostering inclusion in the tech space.
What does the nominee consider her biggest achievement to date?
Led the design and delivery of enterprise data platforms and AI/ML use cases across multiple industries. Also an active Genpact Genome AI learning ambassador and contributor to internal innovation accelerators.
Parul has pioneered scalable MDM and data governance frameworks, reducing data risk and enhancing operational agility.
As well as this, she mentors emerging women tech leaders and drives gender inclusion across global delivery teams.
Parul was named one of the top data leaders to watch by internal leadership programmes.
What is the most significant challenge the nominee has overcome?
One of the most significant challenges Parul has overcome was leading a global data transformation programme for a major financial institution under intense regulatory scrutiny. The organisation struggled with fragmented systems, legacy technology, and weak data governance: issues that threatened compliance and decision-making. As technology and data transformation lead, Parul was tasked with delivering an integrated, cloud-native data platform that met BCBS 239 and GDPR standards within 12 months.
Beyond the technical hurdles, Parul faced deep resistance to change across business and IT teams. She combined technical rigour with strong people leadership - introducing agile methods in a traditionally waterfall environment, implementing automated data governance to reduce audit risk, and simplifying complex AI and data concepts to win stakeholder trust.
Her success not only unified data across the enterprise but also transformed mindsets, reinforcing her belief that purposeful innovation must be scalable, ethical, and accessible to all.
Tell us something about the nominee that people would find surprising?
She doesn't come from a traditional data or technology background. A commerce graduate, Parul began her career in non-technical roles and has spent over 25 years at Genpact across a wide variety of functions - including operations, transformation, and client engagement - before becoming a leader in data, tech, and AI.
