What does the nominee consider to be her biggest achievement to date?
One of Angelika’s most impactful achievements has been helping to modernise digital and data capabilities within the UK charity sector. She is most proud of leading a meaningful digital transformation that empowered people as much as systems.
At The Children’s Society, she helped teams embrace new tools, data, and ways of working that made them more confident, collaborative, and connected. What she finds most rewarding is seeing colleagues who once felt excluded by digital change turn into advocates for innovation, embodying her belief that technology achieves its purpose only when it empowers people.
Previously, as Head of Business Systems at Shaftesbury, she played a key role in implementing new platforms and integrating new IT systems during a major organisational merger. Her leadership ensured a seamless transition, significantly improving operational efficiency and data accuracy. Her work was recognised in internal awards and praised for improving how teams accessed critical information turning data into actionable insight and measurable impact.
Angelika bridges the gap between technology and business strategy, ensuring that digital transformation serves both operational goals and the people behind them.
What is the most significant challenge the nominee has overcome?
One of the most significant challenges Angelika has faced was leading her area through a major digital transformation at The Children’s Society during a period of wider organisational change and growing pressure on services.
Stepping into a critical leadership role, she was tasked with modernising systems and ways of working with limited resources while ensuring that frontline support for children continued without disruption. The hardest part wasn’t the technology itself, but helping people adapt, building trust, and turning uncertainty into confidence.
Through transparent communication, a user-centred mindset and an Agile approach, Angelika guided teams to co-create sustainable solutions and grow in capability and self-belief. What began as a daunting change journey became a defining moment strengthening both systems and the culture of resilience, inclusion, and shared purpose that continues to shape her leadership today.
Tell us something about the nominee that people would find surprising
What many people find surprising about Angelika is that she grew up in the mountainous region of southern Poland, where her love for nature and hiking was born. Long before she became a leader in tech, she spent weekends exploring forest trails and climbing peaks in the Carpathians a passion that continues to this day.
This connection to the outdoors has shaped her approach to leadership and problem-solving. Hiking requires preparation, resilience, and the ability to navigate uncertainty qualities that Angelika brings to her work in technology. She often says the clarity she finds on a mountain trail helps her return to complex challenges with fresh perspective and renewed focus.
Behind her analytical mind is someone who finds joy in simplicity, solitude, and the rhythm of nature. It’s this balance of groundedness and ambition that defines not just her leadership, but her life philosophy.
