Rachel Seymour

Part of the Rising Stars 30 — a list of the UK's most talented young tech professionals in 2025

Rachel has had an outsized impact since joining the LSEG Technology Graduate Scheme in 2019, despite her non-technical finance background. She has played a pivotal role in large-scale technology transformations, including the LSEG/Refinitiv merger, where she developed the target operating model and governance framework, and later led the combined architecture review process.

She developed her technical skills by moving to cloud architecture & engineering, building a pattern library and reviewing architectural patterns for the LSEG/Microsoft partnership. In her current role in Cloud FinOps, she focuses on sustainability, cost optimisation and engineering, establishing a Cloud Financial Management tool and driving GreenOps initiatives with KPIs and cost-saving targets based on FinOps Foundation recommendations.

Rachel is an advocate for women in tech and finance, volunteering with 100 Women in Finance, Women in Banking & Finance and serving on the Future Leaders Shadow Board (FLSB). She actively promotes opportunities for women in finance and contributes to strategy, recruitment, and succession planning for FLSB.
