Felicity Bruce
Part of the Rising Stars 30 — a list of the UK's most talented young tech professionals in 2025
Her primary school teacher said Felicity would "run a mile" from a maths problem. She was determined to prove them wrong, however maths was never her strong suit. Fortunately a Computer Science teacher took a gamble on Felicity and she excelled in the subject, becoming a degree apprentice software engineer at Vodafone.
Following her own initiative, Felicity built the first ever mobile app for Vodafone Engineering's in-person quarterly knowledge sharing and planning event for 800+ people. Boasting real-time notifications, native access to event details, and dynamic updates the app is designed to improve collaboration between disparate engineers.
She went on to add real features to the My Vodafone customer app, and has been in the winning team in two Vodafone hackathons.
Adept in Kotlin and React Native, Felicity believes that mobile apps have a great potential for supporting sustainability and healthcare initiatives, for example in cancer awareness, treatment and support. “The world is shifting to mobile-first and it is exciting.”
