Last week Computing and BCS, the Chartered Institute for IT, jointly hosted the ULK IT Industry Awards: the most prestigious event in the IT calendar.
Winning at the UK IT Awards is a real testament to success, and this year saw incredible entries from across the technology industry.
Prizes went to companies, projects, products and of course people: the beating heart of the sector.
And how those people celebrated on the night! From arrival, where they were greeted by excellent entertainment, to leaving after an extended period on the dance floor, they got down to the serious business of celebrating their - and each others' - success.
This year was a special one for Computing, celebrating our 50th year of publication, and no expense was spared in putting on a worthy celebration. Guests were treated to no fewer than four different groups of musicians: the Snap Chaps welcomed them to the event; electric string trio Siren serenaded them as they took their seats; The Brightside Band accompanied the awards presentations; and Phoebe D'abo took over on the decks as the DJ at the end of the evening.
Comedian Ellie Taylor was in great form, joking with the audience before launching into the most important bit of the night - the awards! But for that, you'll have to check out part two of this series (coming soon!) - or see the full list of winners here.
