With a champagne reception, numerous activity in the New York themed atrium, including a silent auction and several photo booths, guests were well entertained before being called through to a fabulous meal before the comedian walked on stage to begin the awards proper.

This year's motivational speaker was round the world sailor Tracy Edwards MBE. She skippered the first all-female crew in the Whitbread Round the World Yacht Race in 1989 and was the first women to receive the Yachtsman of the Year Trophy.
