The email security imbalance: how much do intrusions now outweigh spend?

With over 70 per cent of the enterprise already using Office 365 and most of the remainder planning to adopt, Microsoft have become the dominant force in cloud-based productivity.
At the same time - in the wake of WannaCry and Petya, up to 90 per cent of attacks now come through email, yet only around 10 per cent of IT security budget is spent on protecting this vector.
What can organisations do to protect against the most prevalent attacks? Why does email security not get the funding it arguably so clearly merits? What can enterprises do to ensure their collaboration is secure, enabling them to work flexibly, without these clear risks of breach?
That's the subject of this IT Leaders' Dining Club. With Chatham House rules in play, we will discuss:
- The general 'state of the nation' in terms of enterprise IT security threats in 2018
- The current security offerings included within Office 365 licenses, and how much the enterprise relies on, or supplements them
- The hows and whys of enterprise IT security spending in the face of the current threat landscape
