Leaked Asus smartphone benchmark points to ZenFone 5 Pro launch at MWC 2018 next week

ZenFone 5 Pro appears to boast a Snapdragon 845 SOC, an Adreno 630 GPU and 6GB of RAM

A benchmark of what appears to be Asus' upcoming flagship smartphone has leaked online ahead of its supposed launch at Mobile World Congress (MWC 2018) in Barcelona next week.

Revealed in an AnTuTu result, the device seems to be the flagship of its new smartphone lineup, supposedly called the Zenfone 5 Pro, but carrying the model number ASUS Z01RD.

Equipped with a Snapdragon 845 SOC, an Adreno 630 GPU and 6GB of RAM, the flagship's benchmark boasts internal storage of 32GB. The device runs the Android 8.0 Oreo operating system. With all these specifications, the device scores an impressive 238,129 on AnTuTu.

As for the screen, the rumoured Zenfone 5 is said to sport a Full HD 2246x1080 pane but with a slightly higher Aspect Ratio than 18.5:9 that we find in Samsung devices, which could indicate even smaller bezels.

The leak of the benchmark comes only a week after rumours leaked regarding Asus' suspected "lite" version of its ZenFone 5.

The rumours came via notorious tipster Evan Blass and state that one of the company's latest handsets will be called the ZenFone 5 Lite, and is expected to tout four camera sensors, two on the front and two at the back, just like Honor's latest Honor 9 Lite smartphone.

Blass took to Twitter to reveal leaked images of the rumoured device, posting photos that clearly show a vertical dual camera module on the back of the phone as well as two selfie cameras on the front.

The phone also appeared to have a front-facing flash, alongside a dual-LED flash module on the back with a rear camera setup with a 120-degree wide-angle lens. The leaked renders also demonstrated proof of a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.

Asus has already sent out its invites for MWC 2018, scheduled for a 7:30pm kick off (central european time) on February 27. The ZenFone 5 Max is also expected to make an appearance at the launch, most likely alongside many other Asus devices, such as tablets, smartwatches and laptops.
