DWP offers £120k salary for an Operations Digital Director
Inspirational digital business management sought for new DWP digital role
The Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) is offering a salary of up to £120k for an operations digital director.
The organisation, which is running the much-delayed Universal Credit programme, is looking for an individual to be part of the DWP Digital Executive team.
He or she will be tasking with running a large, complex estate; planning and organising the business; simplifying, automating and improving processes; and driving performance improvement and enabling the portfolio of all work.
They will also be tasked with leading digital engagement, and developing the digital skills for colleagues and customers, and leading the delivery of effective support for all colleagues, ensuring that requests are resolved and that colleagues are active promoters of the services delivered across the department.
The selected candidate will lead business partner engagement to ensure partners know about the potential of digital products and services across all executive teams, and they will also have to make sure that the department delivers its plans with effective governance and assurance.
The department wants someone who has a track record of delivering digital services for a large, distributed operation on a large scale, and a record of driving commercial relationships with vendor partners to deliver outcomes.
In addition, the chosen candidate will be a driven, collaborative, analytical and problem-solving business leader who keeps up-to-date with opportunities presented by new technologies.
The closing date for applications is 24 September, and DWP will draw-up a shortlist of candidates the following day. A staff-engagement exercise will be held as part of the process on 2 October. Interviews will then be held in central London on the week commencing 9 October.
