Rotherham Council looking to hire an assistant director of customer information and digital services

£83,500 salary for an assistant director in the public sector

Rotherham Council is on the hunt for an assistant director of customer, information and digital services.

The role, which will command a salary of £83,500, will require the post holder to "develop and harness new approaches that put customer experience at the forefront", while also supporting organisation-wide change and delivering outstanding technology services to front line staff.

The job ad suggested that the selected candidate will "recognise what digital can do for Rotherham and make it happen; bringing communities together, strengthening relationships between the council and its customers and, through improved efficiency and customer intelligence, ensuring more money is focused on the front-line, in the areas that need it most".

The council said it was looking for "an accomplished and ambitious technology leader with a track record of delivering organisation wide transformation".

"[The post holder] will believe in a one team approach that puts the customer at the heart of everything we do," the job ad reads.

Rotherham Council's CIO Richard Copley tweeted the job ad yesterday, stating that Rotherham's staff are "smart, dedicated, talent and friendly".

Applications for the position close on 11 July.

For an informal conversation about the post, the council asks candidates to contact Mark Bearn or Jamie Houlders of HAYS Executive on 0113 200 3733 or 0207 259 8743 or email [email protected] or [email protected].
