Fieldfisher selects LexisOne for ERP to provide 'a single view of the business'

Mike Giles, finance director at Fieldfisher, believes one system across all of its offices is the logical choice

European law firm Field Fisher Waterhouse, which has more than 400 lawyers working with large businesses like the BBC, Citigroup, Pearson and Accenture, has selected LexisNexis' LexisOne solution for enterprise resource planning (ERP).

The law firm, which goes by the trading name Fieldfisher, operates from offices in Brussels, Dusseldorf, Hamburg, Paris, London, Munich, Manchester, San Francisco and Shanghai, and wanted to create a more unified business environment for its 800 employees.

It already uses LexisNexis' CRM solution, dubbed InterAction, and has now selected LexisOne, which is built on Microsoft's Dynamix AX platform, for its ERP.

The law firm, which has a turnover in excess of £100m, wanted to ensure that all of its offices were using the same solution in order to have best practice processes in place for its entire operations.

"We work across a number of jurisdictions and having different systems operating in different offices defies business logic," said Mike Giles, finance director at Fieldfisher.

"LexisOne will give us a single, integrated system across the firm and allow us to introduce best practice processes in all our offices," he added.

Giles believes the solution will improve the way that the company operates.

"This approach will improve our ability to deliver consistently excellent service to our clients whilst at the same time providing better systems and business information to meet the needs of the business leading to improvements in overall efficiency," he explained.

"Ultimately, I see LexisOne helping us to become a more connected firm providing a single view of the business, which is critical in the current competitive environment," he said.

Hitachi Solutions will support LexisNexis in implementing LexisOne at the law firm.

LexisOne will replace multiple business systems at the company, and provide a suite of applications including matter planning, expenses, procurement, purchase, general ledger and legal accounting, business intelligence and asset management and human resource management. It will be integrated with Fieldfisher's existing CRM system, InterAction.
