TGI Fridays CIO says NetSuite was a 'tremendous opportunity to update IT strategy'

Capgemini helps implement NetSuite OneWorld for restaurant chain, as well as delivering BPO services

TGI Friday's CIO, Tripp Sessions, has said that the selection of NetSuite OneWorld as a finance management solution was a "tremendous opportunity to update our IT strategy" for the restaurant chain.

TGI Fridays went live with NetSuite after a six-month deployment period and is now using one instance of the solution to run finance processes, including procure-to-pay, credit-to-cash, record-to-analyse, financial consolidation, multi-currency, and financial reporting.

Systems integrator Capgemini partnered with NetSuite to implement and deploy OneWorld for TGI Fridays, and is also delivering business process outsourcing (BPO) services across TGI Fridays locations.

"With all of the exciting work happening at Fridays to further enhance the brand we truly believe that now is the ideal time to also evolve our infrastructure model and are pleased to partner with Capgemini for these efforts," said Sessions.

"Capgemini's reputation in helping businesses accelerate technology transformations make them an ideal provider for us. We're confident that pursuing this technology optimisation initiative will help support our ongoing technology objectives and business strategy," he added.

TGI Fridays, which opened its first restaurant in 1965, now has more than 900 restaurants in over 60 countries. Its new IT strategy aims to cut costs and increase efficiency, while improving the way it addresses and responds to market trends and customer demands.

"The combination of NetSuite's global business management suite and Capgemini's business process outsourcing expertise allows us, with our franchisees, to focus on what we both do best, fully engaging with each of our guests to provide them with a great dining and social experience," Sessions said.

Yesterday, global corporate travel agency American Express Global Business Travel (GBT) said that it had selected NetSuite OneWorld to run its entire global operations, citing its "flexibility, efficiency and reliability".
