University of Sunderland looking for new attendance monitoring solution

New system replaces paper-based solution and needs to be UKVI compliant

The University of Sunderland is looking to replace its paper-based student attendance monitoring solution with a UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) -compliant IT system.

The university's current system is UKVI compliant but it wants to replace it with a more cost-effective and efficient system.

In a notice on the Official Journal of the European Union website, the university said it also wanted to reduce the amount of staff resources needed for the solution, reduce revenue spend and enhance the student experience.

The university employs about 1,400 members of staff and has approximately 19,000 students across the world. It is based around three main locations in Sunderland, one of which has an existing attendance solution.

The university said that the proposed solution would need to integrate with existing systems such as the timetabling system and other access control systems.

Any commissions under the contract or framework could be subject to external funding from bodies such as the Heritage Lottery Fund and the Arts Council.

The successful supplier is expected to work with the university on any funding applications where appropriate.

The four-year contract is not subject to any renewals. Financial details were not disclosed in the tender notice.
