Jive CEO Tony Zingale retires after five years at the helm
Elisa Steele promoted from marketing chief to president as search for new CEO begins
The chief executive of Jive Software, Tony Zingale, has retired from the social collaboration company after almost five years in the job.
Zingle was appointed CEO in 2010 and became chairman in 2011. He will remain on the company's board of directors and take on a new role of executive chairman.
No replacement CEO has yet been announced but Elisa Steele, current executive vice president of marketing and products, will become president of the company. She will also take over day-to-day responsibilities as CEO until a replacement is found.
Zingale said he was ready for a change after five years, but will still play an active role in Jive's future.
"I'm so proud of what we've achieved over the past five years, in which Jive has cemented its leadership position in the competitive and growing enterprise collaboration market," he said.
"I especially want to thank our dedicated employees and customers around the world. I look forward to continuing on this journey with you, and helping to guide the company as executive chairman."
Zingale has held numerous roles in the technology sector, serving as president and chief executive of business technology optimisation firm Mercury Interactive, where he engineered a $5bn merger with HP.
He was also president and chief executive at CRM provider Clarify, which Nortel acquired for $2.1bn in 1999.
Zingale took part in the V3 Hot Seat at the start of the year in which he spoke of his belief that wearable technology will become a part of everyday life, and that email will become less relevant in modern day organisations.
