The Nexus 9 is the first Google-branded tablet to be built by HTC. The partnership caused ripples in the technology world as HTC was not the most obvious choice to build the next Nexus.
Prior to the Nexus 9, HTC's only other tablet was the critically panned Flyer, a device which, despite its name, never saw sales take off.
However, these concerns quickly disappeared when potential buyers saw the Nexus 9's impressive array of features. These include Google's latest Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system and superfast 64-bit Nvidia processor.

Release date and price
The Nexus 9 went on sale on 3 November on the Google Play store. Since then Amazon has started selling the tablet and O2 has announced plans to offer the Nexus 9 on a contract.
The 16GB Nexus 9 is listed as in stock at £319 and is available with a same day delivery option on the Play store.
The 32GB model is also listed as being in stock at £399 but does not have an estimated shipping date. Amazon's prices are in line with Google's.
O2 is is selling the 4G LTE model for £460 upfront on a number of tariffs offering between 500MB and 8GB data.
Specs
The Nexus 9 is powered by the Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system, the Nexus 9 is the first Google tablet to feature a 64-bit processor and will be powered by a 2.3GHz Nvidia Tegra K1 chip that comes with 2GB RAM.
The Nexus 9 will also feature an impressive 2048x1536 resolution 8.9in IPS LCD screen, 8MP with f/2.4 lens, autofocus and LED flash rear camera and moderately sized 6,700mAh battery which Google lists as offering up to eight and a half hours of LTE browsing.
The Nexus 9 will also be the first Google flagship tablet to have a metal as opposed to polycarbonate chassis. Despite being made of metal the 154x228mmx7.95mm Nexus 9 is still fairly light. The WiFi-only model will weigh 425g, while the LTE model will come in at a slightly heavier 436g.
