BP signs five-year IT services deal with Infosys
Infosys will focus on providing oil giant BP with application support and development
Oil and gas giant BP has signed a five-year deal with outsourcing company Infosys for the provision of IT services, with a particular focus on application support and development.
Financial terms were not disclosed, but Infosys suggested that it was one of its biggest contract deals to date.
As part of the deal, Infosys will support BP in running, enhancing and developing business applications and improving business IT processes across all BP's main IT operations, including corporate functions, upstream and downstream segments, energy trading and marketing.
The agreement, which was effective from the start of this month, covers BP's main facilities in Houston, Texas and in the UK, as well as support in locations such as Azerbaijan, Angola, Brazil and Singapore.
"Winning this contract demonstrates how we have evolved as a supplier and continue to work collaboratively with BP across their range of activities," said Rajesh Murthy, executive vice-president and global head of energy communications and services at Infosys.
