Braintree District Council is seeking a supplier to provide it with system, storage and content management software in a package worth up to £10m.

The council issued a notice in the Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU), in which it explained that it was looking for a supplier to provide it with: content management software; software programming and consultancy services; programming services of systems, user software and application software.

It is also seeking the provision of industry-specific software development services and the creation of website designs to provide a communications and services portal.

The estimated value of the four-year contract ranges between £2m and £10m, excluding VAT. The council believes that there will be between five and eight operators who will be invited to tender or to participate.

The contract is covered by the Government Procurement Agreement (GPA), and the framework agreement will be available to all UK public bodies including local authorities, educational establishments, emergency services, NHS bodies, central government departments and their agencies and also registered charities.
