EXCLUSIVE: Three removes BlackBerry 10 phones from the shelves, and is taking no more stock

London store staff say network provider is no longer selling new BB devices

Staff at Three UK's store on Oxford Street, London have revealed that the network is no longer offering shelf space to, or restocking, BlackBerry 10 devices.

Store staff informed Computing last night that there has been such low interest in BB10 devices - namely the flagship consumer-oriented Z10 and Q10 models - that even reducing the devices to a budget cost was not shifting them.

Indicating that the devices have been "piling up in the back of the shop", the employees said they had removed them from the shelves to make room for devices from other companies, such as Apple and Samsung, and have no intention of buying in any more BlackBerry 10 smartphones.

The only BlackBerry offering in the Oxford Street store is currently the legacy BlackBerry Curve 9320 device, which employees said would only be available until stock is exhausted, but which remains "more popular" than the new BB10 phones.

Three's consumer website still appears to offer the phones on contract and pay-as-you-go contracts.

Computing has contacted Three for official comment on the apparent removal of BlackBerry devices from its stores, but has so far received a single tweet, reading:

"Don't panic. We still stock BlackBerry devices."

The question as to whether Three will be taking on new stock, however, remains to be answered.
