Council wants to replace existing software and standalone data sources in £180,000 tender

Wirral Borough Council is on the hunt for a web-based asset management solution to replace its existing software and standalone data sources.

The council issued a tender on the Official Journal of the European Union, which stated that its asset management division wants to increase back-office efficiency, improve strategic decision making and governance and provide improved service to customers, suppliers and partners.

The project covers all 2,500 property and related assets owned or managed by the council.

The council said that it uses two separate instances of the current asset management system and is seeking to consolidate these into a single system.

"The initial contract will therefore be for the supply of software and licence for its use, data migration, implementation services and five years' support and maintenance," it said.

The council wants the contract to be able to be extended for up to five years, based on performance, which will be reviewed annually.

It is seeking a site licence that will enable access to the system for a "wide range of internal staff, contractors and building users". The licence should allow the council to operate a production, test and training version of the system, the council said.

Wirral Borough Council stated that it would only consider awarding the contract to suppliers who are able to grant the council a perpetual licence for the use of the supplier's software. This licence should enable the council to use the system for mobile devices.

The contract, which is covered by the Government Procurement Agreement (GPA), is worth between £71,000 and £180,000.
